October 4, 2025: Beautiful New Hampshire, Good To Be Back, This Is God's Country

 

My wife and I find ourselves back in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. It is the color season and although spectacular the annual autumn display is a bit subdued this year. This is due to a drought in the region, the rivers are very low and the streams are about dried up. Nevertheless, it is good to be back. It has been 8 years since I have last walked this terrain.

I was introduced to this region 50 years ago. My brother and I were bringing my son back to his mother in Worcester, Mass when we decided to head north and see Mount Washington, the highest peak in the Northeast United States. Here we set out to climb Mount Mooselacki one late afternoon only to realize that not only is the mountain higher than we had reckoned but the sun sets an hour earlier at this end of the time zone. A rather hurried descent was called for and we made it back to our car just a bit after dark. One can only imagine sleeping on the cold ground with no cover overnight because of some rudimentary miscalculations. I didn't make that same mistake again

The next time I arrived, I was prepared. About two thousand dollars of hiking equipment, backpack, cook stove, sleeping bag, tent, the works and we were ready. Accompanied by one of my ex wives, we ascended Mount Garfield. It was one of the great experiences of my life. I climbed up on an outcropping of granite and beheld the Franconia Ridge jutting up out of the clouds below and, looking to my east, Mount Washington high above the clouds. It was some sight, watching the clouds roll over the lower terrain while one watched from the overlook beneath my feet. We soldiered on, as they say, climbing Mt. Lafayette and further South along the ridge, descending past the AMC (Appalachian Mountain Club) hut near the Lake of the Clouds. This was in 1980 about this time of year.

We returned again a year later and hiked the trail from the south up the ridge. The colors were spectacular. I've never seen anything like it. On a clear day the yellow, orange, auburn, red and green panorama would literally leap out at you in the bright sunshine. The last day we spent on the ridge we awoke to two inches of snow on our tent. When we had completed our descent we were greeted by highways full of tourists, traffic literally bumper-to-bumper as people from all over New England and, indeed, the world come to see this annual spectacle.

I've been back since. My wife and I were here 8 years ago, and reached the peak of Mount Washington via the Cog Railway. This being my second trip up the mountain via the train. I had previously taken my son up the mountain during one of my infrequent visits to the area. It was our first camping experience.

This is god's country. I've heard people who have lived in New England, some former military men who have served here, talk about the scenery here. It is true. An old friend, now departed, who served in the Coast Guard and Merchant Marine and who had traveled the world would rave about it, saying that nothing he had seen, not even Alaska, held a candle to this. He's right. This is god's country.

October 1, 2025: Kimmel Returns, Yet Another Beating, Raise a Glass

 

Jimmy Kimmel is back on the air.

It took only a few days for the media to adjust itself to the reign of terror brought about by the Orange Turd. One would assume that the first amendment prevails here, but one would be sadly mistaken. One would assume that Disney, the parent company of ABC, would have been motivated by principle to re-instate their late-night comedy host. But NOOOOO!

What prevailed here was that the action to suspend Kimmel for making rather mundane commentary around the death of Charlie Kirk, provoked a backlash bordering on a national boycott of all things Disney. Hell, even my uncle canceled his Disney Plus subscription. Reservations at Disney amusement parks, already in the tank thanks to the ill treatment of foreign tourists by this wretched administration, suffered yet another beating.

The awful truth is that neither comedy, decency nor the first amendment prevailed here. What motivated the corporate interests to reinstate Kimmel was a loss of some 14 billion dollars in business due to the ensuing Disney boycott. The people had spoken in the only currency now recognized by this fascist state.

So let us raise a glass to free speech such as it is, or what is left of it; restricted as it is withing the limits of hard, cold, cash.

We shall see how long before our erstwhile Caesar breaks the bonds of the marketplace.

September 21, 2025: Dictatorship of Capital 2.0, Above Any Criticism, Done Nothing Right

 

Benito Mussolini, the creator of modern fascism, defined his 'movement' as an authoritarian government in support of corporatism. The Nazi's who called themselves “National Socialists” were 'socialist' in name only. Hitler joined what was then a worker's party and transformed it into a fascist movement on the example of Mussolini's Italy, even going so far as trying to replicate, in 1923, Mussolini's “march on Rome” with his “Beer Hall Putsch” in Munich with was intended as the first step to a march on Berlin. Hitler purged the 'socialists' from the party but kept the name so as to put a 'populist' veneer on his repressive regime. Disgustus is attempting much the same thing; a hostile takeover of the Republican Party, keeping the name but gutting all 'republican' substance from the movement.

As evidence of this I give you exhibit number one: his open declaration last weekend that criticizing him “should be made illegal”. There you have it. A bald faced assertion that he is, and has right to be, above any criticism. Disgustus is always right, after all. Just ask him. Hell, just wait five minutes and he will have told you.

It has been nearly three months since reports of the second quarter GDP were due to be released. We have yet to see them. There are reports that the government is delaying or suspending economic reports, including inflation, in order to keep the country uninformed as to the real condition of the economy. We may well be, given the first quarterly reports already into a recession. The tRUMPcession it will no doubt be called, brought upon us by this blithering idiot's senseless tariffs and other economic policies.

He fired the head of the Bureau of Labor Statistics because of miserable employment numbers. This month's employment figures are even more dismal raising the question of how many directors of the agency must he fire and replace before they finally “get the numbers right”.

He rabbits on in daily interviews and news conferences that he has beat inflation. He has not.

He tells the nation that unemployment is down. It is not

He boasts that we have entered a new 'golden age'. We have and will not.

He continually whines that the media do nothing but criticize him, how persecuted he is, and then goes on and repeats the same damn lies. No one seriously takes him to account.

Yes, the criticism has come often. But there is so much to criticize. He's done nothing right. He hasn't done anything, save cut taxes and regulations on corporate America and the country's billionaires, laying bare the true fascist essence of this maladministration: government in service of corporatism. The dictatorship of Capital. And now, criticisms of this despotism, as with any tin-horn dictator may well become illegal.

Every palace had its court jester. Every King has his critics. Even a monarchy tolerates and, indeed, sometimes welcomes criticisms and comic relief. Not so dictatorship.

We are witnessing the end of comic relief. First it was Stephen Colbert whose program is to be mothballed come next summer; the announcement of which, coming after yet another “presidential” tirade, sent a chill through the entertainment industry. Caesar Disgustus then announced that “Jimmy Kimmel is next”.

Jimmy Kimmel's time has arrived. In the wake of Kimmel's perfectly reasonable commentary on the idiot wrong's reaction to the murder of Charlie Kirk, tRUMP and his FCC chairman Brenden Carr announced punitive measures forcing ABC to indefinitely postpone the broadcast of the show. Nextar, an ultra 'conservative', aka fascist, broadcast enterprise announced that it would no longer broadcast Kimmel's show and, since it's group of stations constitute a significant portion of the ABC network it was announced that the program is now in indefinite suspension. Disgustus crowed on his anti-social platform Untruth Anti-Social that Seth Meyer and Jimmy Fallon are next. Soon, everyone, save the fascist howlers and hate mongers will be expunged from the media and all will be in lockstep adoration of the Golden Swine.

So it is with fascist dictatorships. A friend of mine once related his experiences hitchhiking through Spain during the age of Francisco Franco. You didn't talk politics while traveling through Spain he told me, much less laugh about it. It was against the law to make jokes about Adolph Hitler, to do so would land you in a concentration camp. Fascists are a humorless lot. Gone is Kimmel, but Kilmeade is still holding court.

And so it is that rage has been brought to a fever pitch by an unhinged shitting 'president' enabled by media who have become adept at transforming that rage into internet 'clicks' and armpit deodorant commercials. By god, there is political power to be gained and money to be made by stoking rage, free speech and the republic be damned.

It is a perfect storm of self interest, political and commercial. The networks seeking accommodation with His Petulance so that this maladministration will not hinder the headlong rush to further concentrate the media into ever fewer hands, almost all of which are now full-blown fascist enterprises.

Gone is the independence of CBS which now has a political apparatchik in the house monitoring its 'political bias'. CNN has gone full Maggot. ABC and NBC have bent the knee as have the print media. Gone are Joy Reid, Whooppie Goldberg, Rosie O'Donnell, and at least half dozen more who were critical of this thin-skinned megalomaniac. Anyone that pushes back on his endless lying; anyone who confronts this stinking turd with the facts; anyone who calls out our gold painted 'Caesar' risks termination.

His lies, his shameless assertions must be broadcast uncritically. We must all kneel and scrape before the throne of the almighty Caesar, and do so without benefit of any comic relief.

Which leaves us crying “where IS the court jester when we need him.”

September 17, 2025: Kilmeade the Idiot, “Fox and Fiends,” Fraud News.

It's been a week now since they sat there in the studio, perched upon their imperial asses, doing running commentaries on the problems facing this country. None of them has lifted a finger to study or inform themselves upon any topic whatever; none of them have worked a day in their lives, the only perspiration the result of studio lamps. None of them could pass a high school civics lesson, much less a college foundation course. The topic was homelessness in the United States, a subject wholly foreign to these millionaire's, and about which they clearly have no understanding. Nevertheless, there they were, holding court, complaining about the problem and demanding that the homeless submit to 'treatment' or face incarceration. Then Kilmeade, the most savagely ignorant among them, blurted out that they should be given lethal injections, against their will, ending with the exclamation “kill them”. His two colleagues uttered nary a gasp; and neither, in the aftermath, has the media.

It took until the weekend for Kilmeade to issue an apology, of sorts, in a time slot that has only a fraction of his mid-week audience. It was a limp-wrist-ed effort, visually looking like another Fox personality, that used prophylactic Jesse Watters.

This is a consequence of a forced, fraudulent, toxic masculinity. Watters, who replaced Sucker Carlson, who in tern replaced Bill-O-Reilly in Fox's prime time weekday news slot, has a demonstrable problem with masculinity. I mean just watch him.

He protests, too vehemently it seems, that he is 'straight', that he is heterosexual. But his body language betrays otherwise. He tells his audience that real men don't eat ice cream, and should never be seen drinking from straws; the phallic images evidently present themselves too graphically, too abhorrently. One should never, to be man, drink a milk shake.

This is the mindset over at Fox, an organization that has swallowed whole the phallus of masculinity. Tough guys who never show any emotion, any compassion, any empathy. Hitler and the Nazis built an entire regime on this kind of sadistic perversity. This is one of the recurring themes evident in every fascist regime, and here you have it on full display.

There are many homeless in the United States. Some estimate the number at nearly three quarters of a million. There are probably many more. Many are veterans of our armed services who have fought our nation's wars. Many are families made homeless by unemployment or underemployment. Many are now in the streets because they have been bankrupted by unmet medical bills. Some are there because of mental illness. None are getting any help and, being homeless, cannot now vote in order to get the nation's attention. They have fallen off the radar; they are the truly powerless.

But they will find no empathy here, not on hate radio, certainly not on Fraud News. This is the state of political discourse in this country.

How many are we to euthanize Brian? At what point does it reach genocide? What is clear is that the mindless Kilmeade has not thought the proposition through. He hasn't thought anything through. He doesn't think. He only reacts, like any true reactionary.

It is time to challenge Rupert Murdoch's U.S. Citizenship, and question how he could ever have passed a citizenship examination. It is time to repeal the Communications Act of 1996 and return our media to real Americans. It is time to seize Murdoch's assets, challenge the broadcast license of Fraud News, and return to responsible broadcast journalism.

September 15, 2025: Raid on Hyundai, Minions of Disgustus, Implodes Upon Itself

 

The minions of Caesar Disgustus have raided a Hyundai battery factory arresting and holding over 300 South Korean's who were in this country training Americans on building batteries for the automotive industry. The factory, located in my home state of Georgia, is a 6.7 billion dollar facility intended to keep auto manufacture in the United States. The South Koreans were here educating our citizens on the emerging technology, necessary for their employment, and critical in keeping the American work force abreast of current technology. No matter, on instructions from ICE leadership, no doubt instructed by dog killer Kristi “yard gnome” Noem and her overlord, Disgustus' Deputy Chief of Staff and Reich Dorkshiner Steven Miller, ICE agents arrived, masked and fully armed, complete in battle regalia, and rounded up everyone in sight who wasn't lily white. They were then chained and shackled and taken off to a detention (translation concentration) camp and held there for several days.

They would still be there had they not been set free by an enraged South Korean government who negotiated their release. The Hyundai employees were welcomed home as heroes by the people of South Korea. The outrage is still all the news in South Korea.

Disgustus, belatedly, has realized the mistake, now begging for the Koreans to return. However, our 'Secretary of Commerce' Howard Nutlick, has been quoted as saying that they would be welcome here provided that they quickly instruct our workforce and then immediately get on their planes and leave.

This maladministration is forever shooting itself in the foot, displaying the social graces of a greasy fart at a state dinner.

We all await how this will shake out. I'm sure the Koreans will prove to be far more polite than the situation, or Disgustus, deserves. One would hope that Hyundai would announce that it is closing the plant here in Georgia and mothballing it awaiting the flushing of the Orange Turd and the arrival of a sane administration.

This is, especially at the local level, blood red Georgia. These people voted for this and must be made to understand the consequences of voting their fears and prejudices, and unleashing this kind of mindless terror upon any group of human beings who don't fit their white christian nationalist bullshit.

Disgustus promised that jobs would be returning to this country. To date we have lost over 70,000 manufacturing jobs since ignorance, stupidity and incompetence have once again returned to do its inevitable damage to our na. tion and economy. Foreign investment is drying up, expertise is leaving the country. The United States will, soon enough, become an economic, political and cultural backwater as this nation implodes upon itself.

September 14, 2025: Provocateur Charlie Kirk, Gnashing of Teeth, Tyranny Upon Us.

The murder of fascist provocateur Charlie Kirk has stoked outrage from the idiot wrong. Kirk, founder of “Turning Point”, yet another demented political action organization, was a well-publicized anti-Semite, racist, and general overall swine whose sole function in life was to lower public discourse to the level one expects from the Maggot Movement.

One of the young 'darlings' of what passes for the current 'conservative' movement, Kirk was on the campus of a Utah University spreading his message of hate among the young and impressionable. Yet in his early thirties, he was shot and killed by a sniper, yet another in a long list of casualties in this country's never ending saga of gun violence. Lost in the reporting was a school shooting, all too common in the current era, in which 2 were killed and 9 wounded. Just another day in America.

As the news broke, the hate machine went into instant action. Hate speech radio went bonkers. Faux News did it's usual dance, blaming liberals and 'socialists' for the “tragedy”. Caesar Disgustus, never to miss an opportunity, addressed the nation from his newly appointed bordello at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, blaming “radical leftists” and Democrats for the killing. Disgustus, always one to cast the blame elsewhere, never misses a beat.

First, there are no “radical leftists” in this country. Disgustus doesn't know what these terms mean any more than he understands tariffs. That aside, here was yet another opportunity for him to exercise one of his few talents: dividing the country and spreading hate and fear.

There is talk of Kirk lying in “state” under the Capitol Rotunda, as if he were a former president of the United States. There is talk of enshrining Kirk along with insurrectionist Ashley Babbitt, killed during the January 6^th attempted coup, in the pantheon of American fascism, much as Hitler and the Nazi's did with the 'martyrs' of the 1923 “Beer Hall Putsch”.

Kirk is no “Martyr”, for his “cause” is a despicable one. To paraphrase Nietzsche's commentary on Jesus Christ: had he lived to become as old as I, he would have no doubt followed the likes of Steve Schmidt, Rick Wilson, David Frum, Nicole Wallace and a host of others and recanted. But, Oh, the needle and the damage done.

Here you have a political bowel movement that lionizes, as every American fascist movement, the “heroes” of the Confederacy; traitors who took up arms against this republic in defense of slavery, the worst cause in modern history. That's what the demonstrations and murder in Charlottesville was all about, and Kirk's political agenda reflected this kind of knee-jerk reactionary response to our current political climate. This is not a life to celebrate; there is nothing, save the loss of civility, to lament.

Nevertheless, there ensued the renting of garments, the gnashing of teeth, the wailing and lamentation, almost of biblical proportion, in the aftermath. The words “civil war' now bandied about with reckless abandon. Then news broke that a young man, a son of the local Sheriff, from a conservative tRUMP fearing ReSCUMlickan family confessed to the deed. Once again, Rupert Murdoch's “Faux News” and the entire fascist media enterprise, along with Donald tRUMP had 'jumped the shark'. Once again one of their own, it was revealed, had done the awful deed.

Just another gun nut gone off the rails; just another troubled white boy in search of recognition. Just another young fascist, himself like Charlie Kirk, in pursuit of justification.

The casualty here isn't Charlie Kirk, it is political discourse in this country. It is civility. There are protests, as there always are that 'this isn't who we are, we are better than this.” No, this is precisely who we are and have always been. There has always been a deep undercurrent of violence in this country. From the Salem Witch Trials and slavery, to the genocide of our native population, to Jim Crow, to the political assassinations from Alexander Hamilton to our current day, to school shootings and other senseless acts, daily visited upon us, of gun violence. This IS who we are and always have been. It is time to face up to it and admit that American's are too immature to own guns, that the time has come for confiscation.

Admit now, once and for all time, that the tyranny the 2^nd amendment is supposed to prevent is upon us and proving useless in our defense. Guns cannot protect us from ourselves.

The six turds on the Supreme Court have just ratified the establishment of a police state. The Court has ruled that racial profiling is legal, that merely speaking Spanish or having skin pigmentation a shade darker than lily white is sufficient to warrant apprehension and arrest.

We have seen, in recent months, check points pop up on the streets of this country. We have witnessed the introduction of U.S. Military into the streets of our cities. We have seen people, many U.S. Citizens pulled from cars, and taken off the streets by masked armed men with no identifications and no search warrants. We have seen teams of ICE agents raid homes and business, churches and public gatherings dressed like an army of occupation, as if America were Faluja. We have seen all this with no due process as people simply “disappear”. No one knows where they have been taken, nor for how long, or if they will ever return.

The United States has become, overnight, a police state with nary a whisper of protest. The fascists have come to power.

Twenty or so years ago as I was working my third job at a rail plant in Winder, Georgia, a colleague would rave about what he was hearing on hate radio from Alex Jones. “You got to listen to this”, he would opine. I listen, for about ten minutes.

Jones was ranting on about a supposed “concentration camp” near Gaylord Michigan, under construction, he said. I pointed out that he was paranoid, that the camp in question was a National Guard training facility and the fences were there to keep people from wandering into a military training base. The base had been there for at least 40 years. Nothing new here. Jones was paranoid delusional.

But now, when the building of such camps are openly financed and announced, where is the outrage? Where is Jones when we need him? Silence, acquiescence, capitulation. So much for the freedom warrior turned political whore.

All of this from the fetid mind of Reich Dorkshiner Steven Miller who, ironically following the template of fascist regimes south of the boarder (1), has instituted a veritable reign of terror across the entire country.  Miller, is a deranged little fuck who looks and speaks like Goebbels and acts like Himmler and Eichmann.    People are being accosted in the streets, stopped a check points, arrested at court hearings, at places of work as well as places of worship. Nowhere is safe. At least the Gestapo had the 'decency' to show their faces as they committed these crimes. 

The country is about to pay a fearful price for this loss of freedom. Over 40 percent of our farm labor force is undocumented. Crops are left rotting as the labor to harvest them has been driven, by this terror, from the fields. As the nation begins to suffer from spiking grocery prices as well as a general inflation brought on by the breathless ignorance of our once and present Caesar, Americans will discover that the pain of fascist incompetence will spare no one, least of all what is left of the American middle class. When it is “our Ox” that is being gored, when it is “we” they now come for, then the ensuing revolt, perhaps revolution. We cannot depend upon our institutions, our political parties nor, it transpires, our elections to save us.

 For the second time in as many weeks the courts have ruled against our Caesar Disgustus, this time relating to his use of federal troops in the streets of Los Angeles. The Court of Appeals ruled that he violated the Posse Comitas Act which forbids the use of federal soldiers against the citizens of this country unless requested by a state's Governor or confronted with actual insurrection. In so ruling, the courts threaten yet another toy of our errant toddler pending yet another challenge before the Supreme Court of the United States.

The Supreme Court is now paying a price for its errant granting of near unlimited power and immunity awarded the Chief Executive. Finding itself facing a barrage of lawsuits seeking to define just what are the limits of said powers, the Court has now the posture of a jackass left out in a hail storm. Hunkered down, and bracing itself in the tempest, it must sort out the consequences of outrageous jurisprudence. Disgustus is now flooding the docket and this court has no one but itself to blame.

Once again, should the court not let the ruling of the lower courts stand, it faces the same binary decision as confronting the tariffs fiasco: either confirm legal precedent and neuter this maladministration or overrule the lower courts and further the cause of fascism. The first a calamity for our Caesar Disgustus; the last a tragedy for the republic. It must choose Caesar or Republic.

Which will it be? Given the repeated constitutional vandalism, the nation trembles at the prospect.

Caesar Disgustus has made his reappearance after nearly a week of silence. The Turd hadn't shown his face, nor called in to “Fox and Fiends” his morning propaganda outlet. Throughout the week rumors ran rampant that he had either suffered a major health event or, perhaps, he was dead. The prospect of his passing is, of course, awaited with baited breath as millions clutch their pearls in high hopes. Many, it was rumored, were planning the inevitable celebration, the announcement of which is sure to send hundreds of millions dancing in the streets.

He hasn't been looking well. His ankles are swollen, He is overweight. His eyes are puffy and he has deep dark bruises on his hands which he desperately tries to hide with ill-applied makeup. He was recorded walking with uncertain balance as he zigzagged down the red carpet he had thrown before Putin. But, as Lawrence O'Brien on his MSNBC broadcast “The Last Word” has noted: “If Donald Trump suffered a stroke or was in advanced stages of dementia or Alzheimer's how would you know?”

How would one know indeed.

Even his critics miss the point. Telling us with a straight face that he is less cogent than he was ten, five or even a year ago, they speculate that perhaps there is some deterioration. But he has always been this way. He's always been pulling shit out of his ass and throwing it up against the wall. He has always been resistant, even immune, to immutable fact. Like any toddler, he has always lived in a fantasy world in which reality is re-ordered to his mere whim.

How this nation can tolerate this escapes me. The spectacles surrounding his cabinet meetings in which Pam Blondi, Howard Nutlick and the sycophants that surround him spend hours not discussing solutions to our nation's unraveling, but drone on in high praise to the Supreme Leader as he sits on his throne like a bloated toad, like Jabba the Hut, on a stool basking, as he struggles to stay awake, in their faux praise. This is beneath the dignity of the office. This is beneath the dignity of this republic. These are disgusting spectacles befitting our Caesar Disgustus, our Orange Turd, our Golden Swine. These are perhaps the kind of scenes one would witness among children at play. Children who have not yet outgrown their sadism. Children who have yet to learn to see through the eyes, nor feel the pain of the “other”. Children who are yet to learn that actions have consequence. And children they are.

I'm reminded of a story related by tRUMP historian David Cay Johnston in his The Making of Donald Trump”, in which he relates that as a boy he persuaded his friends to throw stones at a baby in its crib so that he could hear it cry. They were too immature to see through the eyes of another, much less feel the pain. They can only revel in it. That, in prelude, is the relationship of Caesar Disgustus to his adoring Maggots. They inflict pain because they cannot feel it; they can only revel in it. And pain is the point.

This is Gangster Fascism and it is time bring it to an end.

In any case we can treasure our brief respite from this madness; from the stench of Disgustus; from the pungent, foul, putrid odor; for, albeit briefly, we could breathe again.
