Autumn, Once Again
It’s
been two cold winters
And hot
long summers
Since we
celebrated
The arrival
of spring
The
trees now turn
the cold
wind falls
setting leaves,
a-chatter
a ritual
rattle
I’ve
made it
once
again
But it’s
never
quite
the same
Momma
don’t go
Daddy come
home.

And my
step-father Vernon Lyles, whom today we laid to rest.
And, lastly, to John Lennon for the coda
