“You know this man, you’ve always known this man,” intoned Keith Olbermann in one of his many podcasts for Gentleman’s Quarterly, about our disgraceful Caesar Disgustus: “he’s the used car salesman, the priest who molests your child, the loan sharker. You know this man; you’ve always known this man. He’s the industrialist who pollutes your air and water, the businessman who cheats you, the drug dealer on the corner, the carnival barker hawking snake oil…you know this man, you’ve always known this man…”
Olbermann,
enlisted by the magazine to do the podcasts began his commentary a few months
before the 2016 election first under the title “The Closer” and then, for about
a year after the swine snuck into the oval office, under the heading “Resistance”.
Olbermann,
of course, made MSNBC joining a ‘network’ struggling to find its niche to
compete with CNN and Fox.
In the process he not only raised the profile of the ‘network’ but introduced
such personalities as Rachel Maddow, Chris Hayes, and Lawrence O’Donnell—basically
the prime-time lineup that subsequently replaced him.
In the
tradition of Edward R. Murrow, Olbermann rose to prominence hosting his Countdown
program in which he regularly featured a “special comments” segment in which he
excoriated Dubya, as George Bush was then derisively known, for his
incompetence, mendacity, and corruption.
That, of course when he wasn’t spanking Bill O’Reilly on his nightly “worse,
worser and worst person of the world” segment where “Billo” would regularly perform
the ‘hat trick’. [1]
Olbermann’s
genius is his ability to recognize and unmistakably expose political mendacity,
malfeasance, and corruption. For instance, in one podcast he listed the 100 or so crimes committed by our now disgraced, twice
impeached ‘president’ in a long segment describing his unfitness for the
office.
In this vein, Olbermann described our
breathtakingly incompetent ‘president’ as a jackass. Only a jackass would order an air strike
against Syrian targets after he had warned them it was coming, only a jackass
would explain the failure of the one hundred or so cruise missiles fired at the
target to hit the runways. Only a jackass…Olbermann
would go on this for several minutes in a granular treatment of tRUMP’s
manifest criminality, incompetence, and buffoonery.
And only a jackass would, as a young
schoolboy encourage his companions “let’s make the baby cry”. To that end they
would throw rocks at a baby in its playpen.[2] You know this man, you’ve always known this
man; you know he’s been this way, you’ve always known he’s always been this
way.
His cruelty and mendacity have always been on
display. It was his signature statement on
The Apprentice, the “You’re fired”, that won him the national and
international recognition that his malignant narcissism demanded. It was his cruel mendacity that attracted the
great unwashed like so many iron filings to a magnet. The pain is the point. Damn sound public policy, we will take a serrated
knife and slit our own throats if it means that the people we hate will be made
to suffer. So what if he’s taking children from their parents and putting them
in cages? So what if he’s cutting school
lunch programs? So what if he’s gutting
the environmental protection agency, waging war on the CDC, the courts, the
press, on governance itself? So what if the
king hell rat is gnawing at the foundation of the republic? Hatred
is the common denominator. Hatred like religious
zeal now animates the ReSCUMlickan Party. A herd of swine led by a jackass.
Against this Biden and the Democrats are deluding
themselves if they think they can negotiate a compromise; that they can fashion
a consensus. The ReSCUMlickans are not
interested in compromise. Biden must have realized by now that he will meet the
same response as Clinton and Obama when it comes time to reach across the aisle. And no amount of federal largesse is going to
sway the great unwashed to vote in their own best interests. You don’t compromise when god is on your side
or when you worship a golden jackass.
An' Br’er Putin he jus’ laugh and laugh

A term used in the sport of hockey in which a player scores three goals in one
game, here meaning that ‘Billo’ on this given evening won the award for “worse
person in the world”, “worser person in the world” and “worst person in the
world” for three egregiously stupid, ignorant, mendacious, or malignant actions
taken.
