“Caesar Disgustus is
a rat gnawing at the foundations of the Republic.”
----from “The
Quotations of Chairman Joe”
“By now,” wrote
the editors in The New York Times, “few might lift an
eyebrow at President Trump's crusade to delegitmize his own Justice
Department and, specifically, his attorney general, Jeff Sessions. It
long ago became clear that Mr. Trump regards federal law
enforcement—as he sees all of government—as a political tool to
advance the interests of himself and his party (assuming those
interests align, of course; if not, the party is on its own).
“Yet even by that debased
standard, Mr. Trump's latest Twitter tantrum against Mr. Sessions, on
Monday, set a new low, providing a kind of anti-civics lesson for the
nation he's supposed to lead”. (1)
It transpires that
the first two members of the Congress to come forward and support
Caesar Disgustus in the 2016 campaign were both indicted this week on
federal felony charges. New York's Chris Collins, the first member
of Congress to embrace the swine was indicted on charges of insider
trading, actions which were somehow caught on a White House camera as
he attended at function on the lawn. Oh we have tapes! Duncan
Hunter, a swine from California, is charged with misappropriating
campaign funds—some quarter million dollars for personal use. “He
and his wife, also named in the 47 page indictment, allegedly dipped
into the political kitty to buy items ranging from running shoes to
family vacations to plane tickets for their pet” (2). probably
reasoning that the Koch Brothers wouldn't mind.
What's amazing
about his sordid episode isn't that the country is presented with yet
other acts of greed, avarice and perfidy. It isn't that we have yet
another example of Rescumlickan malfeasance, for scum sticks to scum
like the plaque on a rat's tooth.
What caught the
breath of the nation was the blatant declaration by our Supreme
Leader as to the course that 'justice' demands.
“Two long-running, Obama era,
investigations of two very popular Republican Congressmen were
brought to a well publicized charge, just ahead of the Mid-terms, by
the Jeff Sessions Justice Department,” he wrote. “Two easy wins
now in doubt because there is not enough time. Good job Jeff.”
“With this latest outburst, the
president has again laid bare his contempt for the rule of law. Mr
Trump does not even pretend to care about the allegations of
corruption against the two lawmakers in question. His concern is
only that they are 'very popular' members who would have scored 'easy
wins' in November, if only Mr. Sessions had kept his fat mouth shut
until after the midterms—or better yet, buried the allegations
permanently.” (3)
By openly declaring
that justice in America should be not the products of procedural or
substantive due process, not the product of due deliberation upon the
facts and the law but arrived at politically in order to serve
political ends, Disgustus once again alone with his cell-phone and
cheeseburger is found this time in the basement gnawing at the
foundations of the republic.
Somewhere deep in
the soul of Disgustus, deep beneath the golden façade, he knows he's
guilty. He knows he's in trouble. He knows that the scales of
justice hang over him like the sword of Damocles. He also, therefore,
knows that he must keep control of the House, for if the Democrats
take control real investigations will ensue. Real hearings. Public
hearings. Oaths will be administered. Witnesses will face legal
jeopardy for not telling the truth. The days of David Nunes will be
over.
For this reason
Disgustus now finds the indictments against two fellow-travelers
disconcerting and, in full panic strikes out accordingly. Justice Be
Damned.
“An' Br'er Putin, he jus' laugh
and laugh”
Impeach and Imprison.
